Steroid nasal spray and septum piercing

My daughter wants to get her septum pierced which I'm fine with in principle. My only slight concern is that she uses steroid nasal spray every day for allergies. I know it can cause the mucous membranes of the nose to thin but she's used it for about 2 years now and never had any nose bleeds.

Does anyone have any experience or advice?

Hi Op I have my septum pierced the only thing I would say is she would be better off speaking to a qualified piercer a decent reputable one will be able to advise her whether or not she can have it done.

They may advice against it as with any piercing your not suppose to get anything on it other than saline spray for cleaning it.
The first few weeks can be very sore/tender mainly with crusties you get around it during the healing phase and when you accidentally move the ring.

That would be my advice is for her to go directly to a piercer for this advice.

Chronic steroid use does inhibit wound healing, so it's probably not the best idea.
