Small baby with sticky eye- should I avoid other babies/ children?

Ds is 3 months and has a bit of a sticky eye. We saw the GP who said it was possibly mild conjunctivitis or the tear ducts being overproductive and to bathe it for a couple of days then if it didn't clear up to use antibiotic drops. I haven't 'cashed' the prescription yet.
We are due to visit someobody tomorrow (4 yo will be there) and my friend is coming round in the afternoon with her 4 yo. Should I cancel or let them know then they can decide? FWIW he has had it a couple of times before and it has cleared by itself without passing it on to dd (also 4)
Advice and opinions would be much appreciated.

Just let them know and they can decide.

I had an Easter party once and ds1 had conjunctivitis. I told everyone beforehand and they all came anyway bar one mum whose dd had had it recurrently and didn't want it again. None of the children caught it BTW.

Thanks. If it was dd I would probably keep her away from everybody but I wasn't sure what the correct procedure was with a baby who won't be touching anybody or anything and might not have conjunctivitis anyway
