9 wk old DS with a cold. Runny nose and runny eye.. How can I help?

Think he's still too little for anything like Karvol or similar.
Have been using saline drops which seem to be helping.

He's just finding his thumb to settle himself which I'm delighted about but hasn't quite worked it out properly - and keeps poking himself in the eye.

So what with the sneezing and the poking, he's got himself a very red eye.

Is there anything I can do?

TIA

are you sure hsi eye isn't a gungy eye too?

breast milk is good for that.

Tilt theend of teh cot up to help with teh breathing too.
Have you got a nasal aspirator? one of the snot sucker things? that might help....although he won't like it!

Well done with teh saline, I was never able to do those properly on teh dsses.

some steam will help the runny nose. A bowl of hot water under his cot, or a humidifier if you have one.

tip the head end of his cot up a bit or put a towel under the mattress at the head end to have his head a bit higher than feet.

Wipe his eye with cooled camomile tea, it is very soothing and very safe.

Meant to say have done the towel under his crib mattress thingy.

His eye is red and a little bit runny but his eyelid is red too which makes me think that it's the poking that's doing it?

Will try and spray some breastmilk in later, thanks for reminding me about it.

Steam good tip too.
Many thanks all
