How long for wasp sting to heal?

Assuming you aren’t allergic and it’s a single sting - aibu to think it shouldn’t linger this long??

Basically I was stung on the arm on Monday, it was sore but fine - popped an antihistamine, put some hydrocortisone on it and an ice cube and got on with my day. The next day the swelling was gone but the area still red and sore touch. 3 days later - not much change. Still hurts when clothes rub against it, still Red (not swelling) and tender to the touch. Occasionally minorly itchy.

I assume there isn’t much I can do at this stage?

About 7-10 days in my experience

About a week or so in my experience.

I got stung last Friday. Nearly healed now, so I reckon a week.

Only been stung once in my 56 years and 3 of the blighters got me at the same time (the dog disturbed a ground nest). But a bit of vinegar (malt, I smelt like a chippie 🤣) and they were all fine the next day, gone the following day.

I got stung this summer on my hand and it was really painful and red for 2 days, on day 3 I thought it was better then it started itching like a bastard. Over week until it was back to normal. Bee stings are not as bad IME.

First sting in 63 years! Took about 2 weeks to go away completely

Perfect! Reassuring to know a week or more isn’t unusual. Thanks all.
