Hearing aids and ear pain/ blockage

I've been trailing a hearing aid for three months, and for the last few weeks my legt ear has sporadically felt blocked (I keep thinking it's better, and then the feeling returns after wearing the hearing aid). Today my ear is properly painful.

I've never had this blocked sensation before. Is this likely to be related to wearing a hearing aid for 14-16 hours per day?

Either the dome is the wrong shape or you might have lost a dome in your ear. Either way you need to see an audiologist.

Thank you. The domes are in place so definitely not stuck in my ear, but they could be the wrong shape - they're generic. My ear is painful even without the heating aid now and I'm assuming wearing the aids has enabled infection to take hold or interfered with normal draining or something (compacted wax? ).

No idea... As you say I guess I'll just have to try to get an appointment - I have wasted a lot of annual leave on trying to get the hearing aids sorted already as unfortunately my working hours are absolutely inflexible, and it's a real pain around everything else. I'm wondering whether something I've done related to the hearing aid has caused this problem.
