use an emery board and file it off

Iota · 27/05/2008 19:58

( I have also been known to use scissors)

misdee · 27/05/2008 20:06

thanks.

it said to use the emermy board once a week, we've only been using the gel 5 days.

but will give it a go i nthe morning.

and will attempt soaking it as well to see if i can soften that bit off.

am amazed at how well its working already, its about half the size it was.

It is easier to do after they have been in the bath.

misdee · 27/05/2008 20:17

thanks for the tip

if you have a pumice you could try that instead of emery board. not only will it file off the white layer but also keep the wart down!

If its on her foot that is, pumice may hurt her hand!

AMumInScotland · 27/05/2008 20:23

If you have anything very sharp like a scalpel or razor blade you can also use that - but make sure you keep it very flat!

misdee · 27/05/2008 20:24

its on her nose.

oh dear her poor nose will be quite delicate. I had a couple of warts on my fingers and used to get quite rough with them ( digging them out with aforementioned scissors and reapplying the acid)

ahundredtimes · 27/05/2008 20:27

Oh that stuff doesn't work.

Here's what we did - after months of acid and emery boards and everything.

A plaster. Smother in lavender oil and tea tree oil. Keep plaster on. Resmother at night. Eventually it falls off, honest.

misdee · 27/05/2008 21:16

dd1 wont want a plater on her nose all the time. she is quite shy about it tbh. i am hoping the fact thats its gone halfway already means it will be ompletly gone in about two weeks when she goes back to school.

I wrongly assumed it was on a part of the body that would actually be in the bath water! Obviously, her nose wouldn't be ... so, sorry about that.

It sounds tricky. Maybe just soaking it with a warm flannel over it would be best. Poor little soul - it sounds painful.
