16wo ds has had diarrhoea for 10 days. it's now not as bad as it was (only every 1-3 hours now, rather than 15-60 mins), but he's miserable - crying before every "poo", upset when feeding and after. ex bf, and has gained 160g in a week, so obviously getting nutrtion, but the HV said to see the GP as 10 days sounds really long to her. we couldn't get an appt till tomorrow, so wanted to ask about MNers' experiences. is 10 days a really long time for this to go on? and is there anything we can do to help him feel better?

ds2 had diarrhoea for 2 weeks when he was 6 weeks old, it was a nightmare. turned out he was intolerant to milk so had to change to soya. Within 24 hours he was fine! I'd always said he didnt feed properly (bottlefed) but hv and gp just kept saying he was a fussy feeder. He gained good weight so they said it couldnt be his milk. then when we found out it was his milk they just said oh well, he obviously was getting all the goodness he needed even though he couldn't tolerate the milk!
