Bad stomach caused by antibiotics?

Hey

So I was put on Clarithromycin about 2 weeks ago for 5 days. It usually always gives me a bad stomach but I’ve pretty much had very loose to basically diarrhea ever since. I went to my GP today and they’ve put it down to the antibiotics and basically told me to come back in a week if it persists.

I’m just wondering if anyone has experienced anything similar? Chronic over thinker so just looking for anyone with similar experiences and any tips?

thanks!

Yes! I always get a terrible stomach on antibiotics. I am on a course just now after a tick bite and my poor stomach is in bits! Live yoghurt and a probiotic might help.

@amber763even after the course is finished? I finished them on 12th and been like this basically ever since! Yes heard probiotics are meant to be helpful so will definitely go get some

Yes I have definitely had my stomach feel upset for a few weeks after antibiotics! It's horrible and I hope you feel better soon

Thanks all! It’s a relief to hear it’s more common than I originally thought. Will get some probiotics and buscopan and see if it helps!
