can someone tell me what a U and E blood test is for?

was tested for this along with thyroid and HB and wondering what this means. Thanks.

Urea and electrolytes. This is a very standard test that will give an idea of your kidney function and the level of certain minerals in your blood.

FBCs, Us+Es, LFTs - they always say things like that on Casulty/Holby City when someone is admitted, I looked it up so I knew wot they were going on about.
