Constant nausea and pale poo?

I thought I had a stomach bug when I was suddenly unwell last week (nausea, diarrhoea) but although I’m over the worst I’m still feeling sick all of the time (sometimes worse than other, really bad last night, kept me awake) and have pale, clay coloured poo.
My DM had gall bladder issues which went on for years.

Dr Google says liver, gallbladder or pancreas.
I don’t have pain - just constant ache of nausea.
Has anyone had anything similar?! Was it gallbladder.

I think the fact it’s accompanied by nausea could be indicative of gallbladder disease, but it’s definitely one to get checked asap. Hope you’re back updating us that it’s something mild, OP.

I had the pale poo after stomach ache, diarrhoea etc I had it for ages and convinced myself my liver was failing or something else terrible was wrong with me. It turned out to be malabsorption after being ill. It eventually righted itself but it took a few months.

Glad it cleared for you. Hope I get the same result!

Thanks, I hope you are OK. I think my system took a bit of a battering and it resulted in this malabsorption, which I'd never even heard of before. Please try not to panic, you are doing the right thing seeking medical help.

Did you hear back from 111?

Feelingsickagain · 21/07/2025 11:02

Hello - apols for silence. 111 took so long to return my call that I'd gone to sleep (they called after two hours to say it would be another three but five hours after initial call and still nothing). I had GP appointment today and they suggested I go lactose free as that can prolong a bug and have also booked an abdominal ultrasound which I'll keep/cancel depending on response to dropping lactose. Thanks everyone for your input.

Thanks for update, hope you feel better soon.

111 can be so bloody useless. Usually get the call around 4am…

Glad you managed to see your GP. Keep the ultrasound appointment as issues from gall stones can come and go but can be seen on the ultrasound.

Keep the scan OP.

OK, thanks for the input. I didn't know gallstone symptoms could come and go. 🙏
