Ultrasound Today - Question about what to wear

Hi,

I have an ultrasound scan later today, for kidney and urinary tract area and I'm not sure whether to wear jeans or a dress!

Does anyone know what happens? Do I have to completely undress?

I’d wear tracksuit bottoms if you have them but otherwise two pieces rather than one. You’ll then pull up your top and move down your trousers - if they don’t ask you to change into a gown anyway that is! Which is more likely I would have thought.

I'd wear something like leggings and a top, something that gives quick & easy access to your middle

I've always had to change into a gown for mine so it really doesn't matter.

I’ve had two ultrasounds, one for an ovarian scan (made me wear a gown) and one for a liver scan, where they just got me to pull my leggings down a bit and my tshirt up to my bra.I’d personally wear something comfortable but two piece.

Wear big comfortable pants just in case!

As it's been so warm I've mostly been wearing dresses, but will go for some leggings and a t-shirt today (and good coverage pants)

I've had scans for the same area. You don't have to undress. Just wear a top that is loose enough to lift up and either trousers or a skirt. You might have to lower that slightly so make sure it is easily undone/ elasticated.

I've just had this, I wore jeans which I was expecting I would have to remove, but I just had to unzip them. It took about five minutes from start to finish.

@Nollyroa do you have a dress that buttons up all up the front?

No, all the dresses I have are just slip on over the head ones.

I had an Ultrasound 2 weeks ago I wore leggings and t shirt, wish I had worn an old t shirt as the fluid they use did go everywhere. I had to pull leggings down to hips and T shirt up to bra level. To check the bladder the ultrasound does go quite way down, so maybe not so large knickers.
