What are these on my hands and wrists?

Hi, Apologies for the pic's, I'm just wondering if anyone has these too and knows what they could possibly be?

I think they could maybe be flat warts, but photos onlindoesn't look hugely similar. The pharmacist gave me some gel stuff to put on and try but ive used on a little patch and it stings so not sure if they're warts or if I'm damaging my skin. They're mostly skin coloured and smooth, sometimes they can be a little more prominent, especially if I'm warm. It started with the upper thumb first and then over the years gradually more have popped up with the odd few on my fingers and other hand, plus the little ones on my wrist.

If they are warts does anyone have remedies?

They look like Pompholyx which is a type of eczema. Are they very itchy?

No, not itchy at all.

I would have thought with eczema they would come and go but they're always there and they've just gradually increased in numbers.
I work as a cleaner so thought possibly warts that I've picked up or I did think may be the cleaning products I use but I do wear gloves but sometimes they break anyway.
I used to get small itchy bumps on the inside of my fingers when I worked as a nail technician, I eventually gave that job up as I couldn't work out what was causing the reaction but they would come and go when I did nails so not similar to the bumps that I have now.

I don't think it's molloscum. I can't see any craters.

Pompholyx is also incredibly itchy as pp said.

Looks like a dermatitis.

I get this from swear from my Apple watch band. Itchy as hell

Maybe go back to the pharmacist and tell them the gel stings when you put it on.

Having said that, the stinging might mean that it is working - like putting Bonjela on a mouth ulcer or TCP on a graze.

Maybe some sort of fungal thing? You could try some clotrimazole cream?

HonkyDonkey · 10/07/2025 00:17

I get this too. I've narrowed it down to either liquid handwash soap or the rubber gloves.

I've bought some cotton gloves from boots that I wear under rubber gloves, and I've switched to bars of soap.

I still sometimes have them pop up but it's not as bad as it used to be.

I don't know, but I've been getting them on my hands and feet for about 40 years, with no ill effects.

I get these from liquid hand soap, it usually appears after washing my hands too often and not drying them properly
