Period blood suddenly like water?

I got up early to change my pad ( normally use a moon cup but I can't find it right now, think it's in washbag after a holiday). My pad was wet but only slightly pink. Like I'd wet myself. I went back to bed and woke up and it's the same. So a fair amount fluid but it's clear.

This is really weird for me.

If not, it could be light spotting mixed with discharge, possibly due to hormonal changes or irritation.
