What is wrong with my foot??? MN diagnosis required

I woke up this morning with a painful left foot.The middle 3 toes hurt and also the flat bit on the sole behind the toes(ball?) Its a kind of throbbing/gone numb type pain, but when i touch it doesn't feel numb if that makes sense. It hurts more when walking on it especially going down stairs.

I hate going to the doctors and can't as its a bank holiday weekend. I would trust you lot on MN to find out what wrong more than a doc anyway!!

So any ideas on what is wrong with my foot please????

Sounds like you have got something like a type of cyst between the tendons. I can't for the life of me remember what it is called, but it is very common. (And treatable).

If you google foot pain it is the first thing that comes up, I think.

thanks Ill try googling it, but would a cyst just appear overnight? My foot was fine yesterday and Ive not done anything unusual.

Sorry - have only just got back to this. I am not sure whether it is something you can suddenly get acute symptoms with, or whether it comes on gradually.

If it doesn't settle down, you would be best seeing either a gp, or a chiropodist/podiatrist and see what they think.

These things always happen on a bank holiday don't they.
