been soothing him for 10 mins and now back to sleep but hubby and i not sure what happened

do we take him to hospital?

no fever...but baby almost convulsing in screams and didnt want to be held then slowly eased back to sleep on our bed so put hin back to sleep in his cot

could it be night terrors so early at 10 months or can teething do this - he has many teeth already though

teeth or wind, I'd guess, both hurt a lot

if he wakes again could try stomach massage in a clockwise direction or skin to skin

My first baby had night terrors at this age. I was surprisd as I thought they occured at a later age. They quite alarming to witness. I'm sure if he's seems well in every other way, he'll be fine.

Have a word with NHS direct straight away as there are nurses on the other end of the line. You sound worried and at the end of the day it could be nothing, but you need to know this, 08454647. I know this number seems short, but they can help in putting your mind at ease. Temperature, spots that do not dissapear when glass put onto them, losing conciousness, A and E.....phone them, they are great.... good luck

You could call NHS Direct (I think that's what it's called - not in UK anymore so not sure) just to talk to a professional about it.

This is a long shot but he couldn't have been bitten by anything at all? I'm in Greece and mosquitoes are out in force already but that doesn't really apply to the UK and also my kids get bitten loads and don't scream so probably a non starter. Please feel free to ignore me. Maybe just wait and see if it happens again and if it does call a professional.
