... boil on my chin.

I started to gently try encourage the gunk out this morning by using cotton wool dunked in hot water against it.

Was this the right thing to do?

Only got a small amount of it out then got worried I was doing more harm than good - was blardy hurting, too!

Do I try again with the hot cotton wool or will it ooze out by itself?

Thanks for reading. Hope I didn't put anyone of their lunch.

have you got any tea tree oil?

MaureenMLove · 24/05/2008 13:14

If its a boil, I'd leave it well alone tbh. I know they hurt like mad, but you'll just make it redder and the skin around it sore. I feel your pain though!

Wuxiapian · 24/05/2008 13:25

No tea tree, posie.

Maureen, will it sort itself, then?

Anyone know of anything else that might help?

Won't need the doctors, will I?

Much thanks in anticipation and hot, throbbing pain.

lavender oil? failing that, salt water and leave it alone!

MaureenMLove · 24/05/2008 16:50

It will sort itself out, yes, but much quicker if you leave it alone!

It's now starting to leak lovely, yellow puss so shall resist squeezing and just mop up with salt-watered cotton wool.

Thanks, all! Advice very much appreciated!

Hope I didn't put anyone off their dinner.
