I was admitted to hospital with a bad gastro/colitis flare up. I got discharged on Monday early evening.
My veins are troublesome with cannulas and taking blood. I needed lots of saline drips.

One area of my left hand they attempted to put the cannula in and it was very painful as the veins kept collapsing. They ended up getting it into the outer part of my left hand.
The first site where they attempted is really sore. And was red and painful last night. I have now noticed it’s getting worse. I am alone and have health anxiety. I’ll post pics and can you please give me reassurance or opinions. Thank you in advance.

It would be a bit sore as they have stabbed you with a thick needle. It's likely a bit bruised. It will be ok in a couple of days. It wouldn't worry me.

This is normal with cannulas. As pp said it will settle and more bruising can appear.
If it’s painful I would take some pain relief. It will feel tender for a while.
