Chickenpox after 1 vaccine, any experiences?!

My son has come out in chickenpox, he had 1 vaccine about 2 years ago. He’s on day 2 today, with about 70 spots. They don’t appear to be blistering. Has anyone had a case of breakthrough chickenpox, so I know what to expect? How long until it clears up?

Did he not have his 2nd vaccine? I think there is meant to be 2? Probably be about 10 days before it clears. Don't use ibuprofen, just calpol if needed and I think you can also use piriton if itchy, check with the pharmacy.

Yes, my two dc only had the one cp vax due to moving back to the UK. Eldest dc was overdue the booster and had loads of spots, not overly ill and not overly bothered. Can’t remember if they blistered, I think most did. Youngest dc caught them less then year after having the 1st vax and had a much milder illness.

My daughter also got chicken pox after one jab (it was too soon to have the second), she had a very mild dose compared to her brothers.

Thank you! He didn’t have the second one no, not really for any reason, I just hadn’t got it done. This is a picture on Day 4, it’s much milder, he had hardly any blisters and didn’t feel that unwell. It seems the vaccine helped!
