Any ideas what’s wrong with me? At my wits end!

Hi all. For about 9 months now, I’ve been getting a feeling of pressure in my head/sinuses/ears and bouts of vertigo. Not really had much of a headache with it though; just feels like I have an overinflated balloon in my head, tinnitus, waves of dizziness and just feeling wiped out and weak.

My blood pressure, heart rate, oxygen sats, all blood tests etc are normal.

Docs have treated me repeatedly (5 lots of antibiotics now!) for sinus/ear infections - antibiotics seem to help and it eases off for a couple of weeks before getting worse again. One doc thought it wasn’t infections, but a vestibular migraine, which made more sense, but the meds for that didn’t help at all and I ended up back on antibiotics again as I was going on holiday and needed to be able to drive.

Last doctor I saw suggested it might be related to my neck being painful (all of my back and neck have hurt for so long now, I’m just used to it), but has offered no help apart from suggesting I get a massage, which I have and it hasn’t helped.

I’m at my wits end as it’s ruining my life! I’m physically challenged with my mobility, and dizziness is affecting my ability to drive, which means I’m stuck in the house a lot feeling very sorry for myself.

Any suggestions would be very welcome!

Have they done a scan of your head? They should do that before chucking more antibiotics at you which are clearly doing nothing.

Have you tried acupuncture or shiatsu? If the nerves around your spine and neck have been injured, that could cause the dizziness. Sometimes more alternative therapies have better outcomes for spinal and muscular issues.

Sounds odd but have you tried telling chatgbt your symptoms? I've recently told it my blood results and uncovered things my GP didn't think of!

No, no mention of a scan. I’ll ask about that.

Acupuncture is worth a try. Hadn’t thought of that actually. I do have severe issues with my back and neck - degeneration of my discs which started about 15 years ago and a traumatic brain injury caused by a fall 13 years ago, so I have had a lot of trauma in that area.

No, I hadn’t thought of chatGPT. I’ll try that now!
