What the heck is wrong with my feet? (Warning: gross pic)

All of a sudden this evening, my feet became really itchy. I gave in, scratched them, and now they are red and sore. The skin on them is incredibly dry and it’s the same with my lower legs. Upper body is all fine.
Is it some kind of eczema? I’m 51 and have always had dry skin on my lower legs and feet. Usually it doesn’t bother me, but it’s weird that both feet started itching at once tonight 🫤
Thanks.

Oh, and it goes without saying that I’d love your recommendations on creams or whatever to solve this extreme dryness.

get some Dermol- pharmacy or GP- soak feet/legs with it then dry then apply the cream for 2 weeks. Then after 2 weeks switch to aveeno

ANY cream will help! but the thing is you have to use it several times a day and apply thickly. Also buy a Korean scrub cloth from amazon - the red and green ones - and wait until you’ve been in the bath/shower under hot water for 10 mins minimum and then scrub all over - NO SOAP though!!! - you will be appalled and soo happy when you see how much skin comes off:) I’ve used other scrub things and cloths before and when you go over the same area with a Korean scrub cloth on and it gets ALL the dead skin off and also works amazingly well on feet too!! Your skin will be left silky smooth

Thank you. So the same product serves as both a foot soak and a cream?

I always rub in almond oil before I get into bed a put on a pair of trainer socks. Does seem to help!

Its because it's hot and dry skin always itches when its hot but to be honest you should never have let them get this bad. Flexitol or any urea based cream twice a day for one month and they will be baby soft and no itching.

Saysayonara · 23/06/2025 16:28

I agree re Flexitol. I use CCS foot care cream, it's similar.
It's very effective and works quickly.

RebelliousHoping · 23/06/2025 17:40

Another vote for Flexitol, recommended by a professional.

I also got E45 itch relief gel (clear gel) put in fridge that worked no issues.

AmberHoney · 30/06/2025 14:24

Yes, E45 I forgot to mention!
