The most horrid stomach ache. TMI

I felt unwell all day yesterday. I think I had eaten too much chocolate cake at work .

at 10pm I had the horrid stomach ache and queaziness the type that felt like I did not know if I was going to be sick or have diarheoa. Went to sleep, woke up feeling better. Then...

20 mins later. the most horrific stomach pains.
I felt like I was going to be sick but I could not be, like i needed to go to the loo but i could not, my stomach felt like it was going to burst. I felt the colour leave my face, I went cold and tense, and my blood hurt, sweating loads.

I laid on the floor, could not move, could not call for my DH, and was sick where I was. The pain was so bad, and I started to feel dizzy.

I then needed the toilet. but could not go. Eventualy went, and it was normal, then the pressure eased. Then, it started hurting again, then i wet to the toilet again and again and again and again, each time it got more and more runny until it was eventually just dark water.

I finally got back to bed feeling loads better, achey, pale and sweaty, finally got back to sleep.

TMI like I said.

What on earth was that?

And to top it off DH could not go to sleep afterwards, so got up, after getting me a camomile tea. He stayed up, fell asleep on sofa and now is knackered. It was meant to be his lie in this morning, so, DD woke up earlier than normal at 6:45am, and at 7am I got up

LL - even tho I am ok now? Once it was out and i lay in bed for a while, i felt better .

But i have never felt anything like it. Even with my last horrendous stomach bug at christmas was not this painful or gross! I was sick on the floor . It was projectile and acidic.

Least its over now.

yes it does sound like food poisoning. Hopefully it's all passed now.

Pavlovthecat · 23/05/2008 08:08

Belgo - it has passed. I am pretty sure of that. I just feel drained.

And guilty that DD is watching Curious George as i cant face doing breakfast

be very careful what you eat today - stick to dry toast and biscuits.

Yes definately food poisoning, you poor thing. The pain is intense and your body will try to rid itself of the nasty as quick as possible.

Like has already been said be very careful what you eat, dairy is a big no, no. It will really aggravate you again. Hope you feel better soon.

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 23/05/2008 08:16

I have only ever had this once, it started while I had a paste of bicarb and water on the tile grout trying to get rid of the yellow-ish stains (thanks Kim and Aggie!!) Have never tried it again so I don't know if it was some sort of reaction to it or not!

Hope today is less erm... eventfull for you

belgo - I dont fancy anything.

LL - I was sick, on the floor of the bathroom! I would have made myself sick if it was that kind of nausea, but it was not, and to be honest, once it came on like I needed to be, I could not do anything apart from lie on the floor!

The only reason I did not go to the loo on the floor was the embarrassment of DH having to come pick me up off the floor, that got my up off the floor!

Meant to be taking DD to swimming lessons. We seem to only go every other week!

DD and I are snuggling under duvet watching Curious George while DH sleeps.

TMMJ - oh no! that must have been awful, did you have to go to hosp? I felt so awful, I thought at one point DH might have to get an ambulance, thought I was going to pass out! I guess looking back I was just being dramatic, esp if you had it for 7 days!

OP posts:
belgo · 23/05/2008 08:22

I had it for two or three days before I got myself to the doctors and got buscopan which helped ease the pain. I lost loads of weight, whihc was great, just in time for my holiday the following week -rather painful way of doing it though!

Pavlovthecat · 23/05/2008 08:24

At least it did not happen at work. how awful would that have been just thinking about it!

Thanks for sympathy everyone.

Belgo - perhaps not the most healthy way of doing it! Sounds like I had it mildly then
Natalie - I shall not try that then!

ooooooh this happened to ME (almost exactly the same) the day before yesterday and I wondered what it was - could only conclude it was something I'd eaten. I was FREEZING all evening as well, couldn't get warm. I don't think I was as bad as you, but it hit whilst I was doing tea/bath/bed and before DH got home and it was grim

Horrid isn't it!

Pavlovthecat · 23/05/2008 09:09

Mrs JC - its not pleasant is it?
I thought I felt bad during the day because i had mainly eaten cake and cookies for lunch. The cookies were yum but the cake tasted a bit odd. Several people noticed it had a funny taste. Maybe it was off?

Then when I came home Dh cooked fish fingers, chips and spaghetti . Not the most nutritious, but we just could not be assed after both working, and I love that dinner!

So, only thing I can think of was cake. Not fish fingers as they were properly cooked, and I was already feeling unwell.

I can't think what mine could have been
I nearly fainted the next day as well, so take it easy!

squidler · 23/05/2008 10:13

My eldest DS had this last weekend - the cramping and sickness - very violent and projectile. The cramping was so bad.

Then on Monday, youngest DS ALSO had it, was sick right on the playground at school with no warning apart from that he had been quiet, pale and shaky at school.

Last night, I had it. Although I had morning sickness with both boys, and have have a fair number of tummy bugs in my time, this was totally different. The pain was immense, and I only made it to the loo just in time, as my bedroom is next to the bathroom - i couldnt stop being sick until there was nothing left, and even then it wouldnt stop.

I am not sure that it is food poisioning, but a very nasty D&V that is going around.

Hope you feel better later - ice cold water is the only thing i can manage so far.

Pavlovthecat · 23/05/2008 11:54

squidler. Oh I hope its not a D&V as it means everyone else will get it over weekend, so I will spend the weekend looking after them, when DH is at work today and I got to look after DD on my own! That would be typical eh?

I did make sure the entire bathroom was thoroughly cleaned before I went to bed, even though I felt awful, as I did not know then if it was a bug or food poisoning.

[guilty] I am just letting her run around creating havoc, she is perfectly happy entertaining herself, jumping off sofas, chasing the cats and yelling loudly.

And I am here 'recovering' on MN. I should go do some lunch. But, I just cant get up .

OP posts:
MrsJohnCusack · 23/05/2008 12:18

oh well, I am in NZ so I can't really have that D&V bug! everyone else well here too

BoysAreLikeDogs · 23/05/2008 12:23

Pavlov, whatever it was I hope you feel better soon.

Take care, and remember a day watching TV is not wrong at all.

Pavlovthecat · 23/05/2008 13:04

boys - good. As she is now watching Pocoyo. She has three dvds and loves him, so that should keep her going until after lunch!
Which btw I am cooking - pasta and tomato sauce for us both, going to put some vegetables in and puree in to disguise them for DD! and she is also having some fish. How about that for a sick person!

I am not sure about friends house. I feel a bit light headed so not sure driving is good. DD is due a nap after lunch so I can get some shut eye if she sleeps, then maybe we can go over and I can chill out while she runs around ripping up plants!.

Thanks for making me feel better everyone!

Mrs JC - no, you cant have the same bug, unless someone I know went over to where you are in the last few days. Thats possible?!!
