Fibromyalgia exhaustion-how to cope/manage

I was diagnosed last week with fibromyalgia after years of chronic pain.

The pain is bad enough but I am currently in the middle of a flare and the exhaustion this time is really severe. I can't eat as feel too tired, feel nauseous every time I move and yesterday went to be at 5.30 and did not wake until 6 this morning. I then had a 2 hour nap this afternoon and it was a struggle to wake.

I am still learning about fibro but would love to hear from others any tips and hints. Many thanks in advance!

It's very hard to manage. My methods are taking B and D vitamins, I'm also on Gabapentin but only take it before bed, eating clean - as few preservatives and additives as possible, give up caffeine and alcohol, exercise in short stints throughout the day. A walk, a YouTube stretching video, armchair yoga, we have a rowing machine. I do 15 minutes of something 3 times a day. Don't try to do too much round the house. Say goodbye to whole days of shopping. Avoid stress and stressful people. Mostly I'm ok like that. I work full time so if we have to travel to visit someone, I book a day to recover off work afterwards. Rest but make sure you keep moving. You can lose muscle tone really quickly. I'm fighting against losing my mobility as I get older by keeping my leg muscles strong.

Thanks so much. I will try everything. It's so debilitating. It's definitely limiting my ability to do things too many times.

You're welcome. It takes some getting used to.
