I had a copper coil fitted this evening, by a trainee doctor and it really hurts. They said that some pain is normal, but how long does it last? I really want a bath, can I?

Ouch, sounds painful.

No knowledge, I am afraid

Hopefully someone else will be along to help

I was advised not to bath for a few days after my mirena - nice warm shower?

don't know about bath
took mine a few weeks to settle down completely but I don't mean it was painful as such for that long, more achey the way it is just before a period sometimes

the painkillers have kicked in now, they should give you them before they start poking around..
