Severe period / ovary(?) pain

I have severe left sided pain, about where I think my ovaries are. It’s sharp and comes in random waves I have all sorts of gynae issues but have never had pain this severe. I have naproxen which didn’t work (unusually) earlier today, have just taken a second dose with paracetamol. Could this be a burst cyst? I know I have some small cysts but the gynaecologist wasn’t worried about them. If so is it best to just wait it out?

I have had the same thing. I’m booked for an ultrasound next month. Before having children I never knew what a period/ovulation pain was. Since having my third coil (mirena), I have moments where I feel like I’m in early labour. This might be too much info… but I passed what was a big clot (grape sized) a few weeks ago, I was terrified as I’ve only experienced this when having a miscarriage. Hope it feels better for you soon. With clots does the gynaecologist “keep an eye on them”… if not maybe get them rechecked, considering the pain you’ve experienced.

Have you been checked for endometriosis?

I suffered from painful ovulation and pain in my ovaries for years. Us scans often picked up ovarian cysts but always told that's normal for a lot of women.

Eventually diagnosed with endometriosis (via MRI) 18 months ago at the age of 50.

Severe ovary pain should be checked out as it could be twisted.

I would go to A and E or urgent care .
