Varicose veins weight loss and exercise

I know being overweight is a major risk factor for varicose veins but need to find an exercise type that won't make them worse. Has anyone found that running has made their veins worse? I want to start couch to 5k but am reluctant incase running does make my veins worse. I'm going to have them lasered but not until I've lost weight. I'm hoping that losing the 3 stone I need to may even help them a bit. Any help welcome!

Some class 1 knee length compression stockings may help. Activa are good, and they have easy guidance on measuring to get the correct size. You can get them off Amazon. If you are starting on weight loss journey then maybe start the running after losing a bit if you are concerned?
