Hi,

Could someone help me please? I am currently trying for a baby - not due to test until 28th May. But my partner yesterday has come up with a itchy rash today its all over his body. It looks more like whitish / sligtly pinkish spots. Is this a sign of Shingles?

Is Shingles dangerous in early days of pregnancy?

I am really worried just incase.

I think Shingles only affects one side of your body, weirdly. So unlikely to be shingls IMO

Shingles is fine in pregnancy I was told (I had it for a 2nd time early on in this pregnancy). Shingles is usually in one place, following a nerve line. Could it be chicken pox he has?

Is chicken pox dangerous for me if I am preggers?

Think chicken pox may be - have you had it before?

WigWamBam · 19/05/2008 11:11

Chicken pox can be dangerous in the first few weeks and the last few weeks of pregnancy.

Has he had chicken pox before?

Have you had it before? If you've already had it then the chances are that you are immune.

If his spots blister then it's quite possible it could be chicken pox. But it's also possible that it's an allergic reaction ... hives looks as you describe.
