What came first, the louse or the nits?!

Presumably there has to have been a louse there to lay the eggs...

DD1 had an itchy head this morning so I had a good look through her hair then combed it with the nit comb. I saw a few little white specks but nothing moving.

Have sent her to school, but now wondering if she could have nits without any lice? We had it before but found a few crawlers and treated with full marks then wer=t combing for a week or so.

Any thoughts?

I suppose in theory a louse could crawl over from someone else , lay eggs & then crawl back or fall off!!!

More likely the little booger is hiding, they are experts at it. (if it IS nits)

Keep wet combing with conditioner for three weeks to break the cycle & be sure ( not every day obv)
