Has anyone ever taken linezolid?

I’ve been having problems with repeated skin infections and it’s become resistant to most antibiotics. I had a couple of courses of co-trimoxazole from my GP late March early April time. Then I had a dermatology appointment at the hospital on 17th April and they swabbed it again.

They phoned me today and are going to ask my GP to prescribe linezolid. Has anyone had this one before?

Yes. One of DC had it for a serious infection. It was fine (and worked). I really doubt you'd get it if you didn't need it.

My son has also taken it. Apparently it tasted awful but no other problems. It is a pretty rare medicine so I think they will have found specific reasons for prescribing it - and that is hopeful for your outcomes.

Thank you, hopefully it does the trick.
