I have a colonoscopy tomorrow afternoon. I took the first sachet of Picolax at 4.00 pm as directed. Now nearly 8.00pm. Absolutely no sign of a bowel movement at all. I've taken other laxative solutions for colonoscopies twice before and I would be running to the loo long before now. Getting worried that it isn't going to work and I'll have to re arrange my appointment. Definitely don't want to do all this again if it can be avoided. Have followed all instructions. Drinking loads of water. Does anybody have experience of Picolax? According to the instructions things usually start moving from within an hour. Hopefully someone has experienced a delay like this and can reassure me or maybe can tell me I'm likely to have to rearrange so that I'm prepared. Thankyoul

Wait for the second dose. I've had no movement from dose 1 before and 2 works a treat.

The next time, dose 1 worked.

Buckle up though, you're in for a bumpy ride! And best of luck for the procedure.

Don’t worry, it’ll work. I thought it wasn’t working but it hit during the night.

Thank you @PiggyPlumPie and @ElectricCaterpillar for quick replies. It has now started to work so hopefully no need to reschedule. Now it is working I'm glad they gave me the Picolax instead of the other things I've had before. Half a cup far easier to drink. Thank you for best of luck @PiggyPlumPie . I've had two colonoscopies before. The first one I wasn't even aware they had started when they finished so all good. I wasn't nervous when I went for the second one because the first had gone so well...but had to stop the second one because it was so painful😱Hence another go so hopefully this one is ok.
