Does this rate of weight loss seem normal?

Hello, I’m on a weight loss journey, I want to lose 80lbs I’m currently 22lbs in I believe.

I’ve done this before when I was younger her before I had kids and don’t remember having so many up and down fluctuations. Is this normal? I’ve been very consistent with my calorie deficit, I’ve been walking an hour a day and have taken up Zumba. the red hearts are my period, but for the last 5 days I’ve lingered around the same 2 pounds, is this normal?

That’s fast. Looks like you’re averaging around a lb per day. Do you feel okay?

The up and down variations are normal. (It is why they used to tell you to only weigh once a week.)

Yeah I feel like it’s evening out now and slowing down which as long as that’s normal I’m fine with, yeah I feel fine, I have drastically changed my eating habits and whole lifestyle though so I may have shocked my body.

So it’s been about 7 weeks and you’ve lost 22lbs which averages at 3lbs a week. You often find the first couple of weeks are high then it starts to level off as you get rid of retained water early on.

You might find it easier to track your weight in a spreadsheet with a graph, or in an app like MyFitnessPal that way you can see the overall trend. Weight zigs and zags up and down on a daily basis, affected by how much you’ve slept, drank, exercised etc I weigh daily, it works for me to just have it be part of my morning waking up routine, I’ve attached my graph showing all the ups and downs.
