Hi, what migraine prevention treatment have you tried & had success with minimal side effects?

I’ve tried a couple of things but the side effects weren’t great so have a GP appt on Tuesday to discuss.

Interested to hear what has worked best for you. Thanks!

I have the atogepant through my neurologist on the nhs. So I would query that

Yeah same. Am prescribed atogepent as well as Ajovy and Gabepentin although the Atogepent doing nothing for me.

Was on beta blockers for years, but their efficacy wore off & I ended up with cluster migraines (20+ a week)
I was then put on Pizotifen, which stopped the migraines, but as a PP said I put on loads of weight in a very short period. Over 2 stone in 6 weeks.
So I was then put on Topiramate. Initially had an appetite suppressant effect, so I lost the weight v quickly (thankfully). And the appetite suppressant wore off, and thankfully I had no other side effects, and it has been incredibly effective at preventing my migraines. 100mg daily.
