Update at 20:17 - No more trifles today. Steves breathing not good and he won't take his meds. DN is coming in morning and said about fitting him with a driver.

sorry only just had time to catch up yesterdays posts, great letter buds and a good extra bit to add to it LGJ a letter would be a good idea and once I have finished mulling everything over in my head I may go with. The letter.

Just saying good morning OJ and praying for a peaceful day for you, Steve and the children.

I think going with something like the great letter might be good. Was talking to dh about it again last night, (he's a rural GP who does a good bit of terminal care) and things like approaching the advocacy people are totally outwith his experience, though he has known some pretty awful families. Seems that even at this stage, your MIL is well off the mark of what is considered even "normal weird'.

Hope you didn't think I was too presumptious (SP wrong!) OJ but I thought that if I was in your position that there would be so much going around in my head I wouldn't be able to think straight.

Bree's para about hearing is very poignant I thought.

OJ. Strength, calm, and peace, and distance from your wretched mil is all I can offer you this morning. I don't really know what to say.

I did have a thought though - I'm sure (I hope) that lots of people are rallying around you in rl, but something I found really helpful when my friend had terminal breast cancer was to have one person who could co-ordinate who was doing what to help. This meant that the pressure was taken off those immediate family asked the question "what can I do to help", things just happened, and everyone's help was put to good use. We did this on the web, by just building a basic website (and everyone had a password, to stop it becoming common knowledge). I'm sure between us we could at least set it up for you, and once it was done things can just happen around you. It seems like a lot, but it could be sorted really quickly, and could really help, especially in the coming weeks.

Sorry if I'm being presumptious here, but its the only practical thing I can think of. And perhaps its something that is already under control in which case ignore.
