DS has roseola but in much distress

DS2 (8 mo) has roseola but is seriously distressed with it. High temp. has passed and now we just have rash. DS1 had the same at a little older but was fine and all other kids seem to not be bothered by rash stage. DS2 seems to be going from happy one second to screeching the next. Went to GP (who he conned into thinking he was happy as Larry)but nothing odd.
Anyone else had any irritation with this?

My only experience of roseola was with my ds1 when he was about 8. He was really not at all well with such a high temperature he could not tolerate movement and was sick, but once the spots came out, he felt much better. I thought this was the usual course of things.

How sure is the GP of his diagnosis?

She seemed very confident - she had a good look at the rash. My prior experience was much like yours... Whatever is bothering him seems to come in waves. I know he is teething (permanently!) but this is different..

I can only suggest going back to the GP tomorrow if things are no better. Or maybe wait until Friday if you only saw GP today.

Rash has gone but screetchinhg hasn't. I'm starting to think he has found his stroppy side...oh great. Thanks anyway!
