Bad cramping 3 weeks after birth

Hi ladies, I gave birth to my daughter 3 weeks ago and I've been having bad period pain type cramps for the last 2 days. I'm breast feeding so am aware that there might be some pain during feeding whilst the uterus contracts back but all the books say the pain is usually during the feeds (my pain is all the time) and only for the first few days following labour...any ideas?
THANKS!

i think you're right - they're meant to last for a few days only (although i think it takes about 4 weeks for your uterus to get back to normal size). I'd call your health visitor or GP, pehaps you have a slight infection (UTI)..Do you have any stinging when you pee, or need to pee lots?

I would check out with hv or midwife. Still hurting right now could be a UTI or a womb infection - best get it checked out beforeit gets worse (had a tiny tiny bit of retained placenta after ds and had to have d&c after 3 weeks to get it out - really worth getting checked!)

Hope you feel better soon!
