If DD had chickenpox really badly as a toddler, is it likely she could get them again, mildly, at 7?

My children have just had chicken pox and I had a few itchy spots that didn't blister, my friend whose children caught chicken pox from mine also found that she and her dh had mild symptoms.
We guessed that the chicken pox was working on us with the exposure but we didn't get a full dose because we had already had it.

Not sure if that is helpfull. Maybe someone will come along who understands that horrible pox!

i thought you could get it again if you had it mildly
my only experience is dd had it mildly then had shingles three years later

I hope she's better
Aimsmum, are the spots concentrated in one area or spread all about

concise explanation about chicken pox

I had quite a bad case of chicken pox as a teenager, and yet tests when I was pregnant showed that I am not immune. So I think it is possible for your daughter to get cp again.

shingles for us was a wave of spots on one side from about tummy button round to the centre of the back, all together

they ended up looking like chicken pox blisters but bigger and more elongated, and really painful

I don't know about scbu.. I suppose I would but I don't know if one ought

I hope it's not shingles
I THINK that shingles is only contagious if in contact with the actual varicella stuff inside the blister and not like chicken pox

but you'd have to check that
hoep it's just a heat rash

If you havent had CP you can catch it from someone who has Shingles.I don't think that you "carry" the CP virus and pass it on,so SCBU should be ok.You can get it more than once, although this isnt common, and I don't think it matters whether it was mild or not.
CP as you know,is quite obvious as the red pimples usually blister,by the morning they will start to change and increase if CP,if not they should begin to fade.Often you have a rash with a virus,or it could be a heat rash as you say.If you have had CP,and didnt get it when your DD had it before then you shouldnt be at risk,so therefore you couldnt be infectious to anyone else.HTH
