Bone health 50+, BMI, calcium supplement

Hello 👋

I've lost a bit of weight in recent months and my BMI is around 19-20. I'm also peri-menopausal and aware that a lower body weight and menopause are risk factors for osteoporosis. When I was younger, I did have a lack of periods through low weight (much lower than currently) and subsequent fractures (leg, arms, wrist). So, I'm hyper aware.

I want to do what I can to protect my bones.

Could anyone recommend a really good calcium supplement? There are so many options that I don't know which ones are decent and would be absorbed and which ones might just create expensive pee 🤣🙈 I'd pay for a private prescription if that was a good way to go.

Thanks in advance ☺️

I’m not convinced supplementation is effective. It seems calcium taken via supplements migrates to arteries more than to bones. Eating dairy is good for calcium, so is taking vitamin D and Boron and weight bearing excercise.
