I saw the e chiropractor last week and he diagnosed trapped nerve in three places Pain is in my bum, spreads down my leg and currently my outer lower leg is throbbing and my foot is fizzing.
I cannot get comfy. Back at chiro on Thursday but it's worsening. I've got GP tomorrow and will ask for some pain relief as it's awful. I've done my exercises tonight and it feels even worse.
It's so horrible. Just relentless.
Has anyone any top tips ? Please. I'm so miserable and can't see me being able to drive tomorrow to work. I can WFH but even the thought of sitting is making me want to cry. Sorry to sound pathetic.

I've known large doses of magnesium citrate (like 1 gram per day in warm water) benefit some people with sciatica. I take this amount, but for other things; so does DH. If you buy it as loose powder (eg: https://www.bulk.com/uk/products/magnesium-citrate/bpb-mcit?view=ppc&o=MTc4LTMyLDE3OS02OA==&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_id=21568918755&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=21579206821&gbraid=0AAAAADuWRUnIwKiZidfw_zyLwNVVEavLl&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI_qH5moSXjwMV5JhQBh1MbhJMEAQYAiABEgJmu_D_BwE) and weigh it out yourself it is massively cheaper. You have to build up to this dose though--start low and stop increasing when it begins to give you diarrhoea, and then drop a little below that amount.

The injection does work for many people. So I'm glad you asked @tattoonewbie .

Hi, i hope it's ok to join please? I'm over three years in and still suffering. I'm just wondering if anyone of you also suffer long term?

I'm on amytriptaline 50mg per day and then paracetamol as required. I tried ibuprofen and naproxen but found they didnt make a difference. I've had two steroid injections that I've since been told were double the recommended dose. They give some relief for a while but the pain always comes back. I've also had physio and gone through the pain clinic classes but found they were more about living with the pain and positive thinking than curing it. Mri showed the l5 disc impacting on my nerve. Just wondering if anyone has been through similar?

I've walked a fair bit today - I mean nothing compared to BS days but further than I've done in ages. My foot now hurts on my bad side and my bum hurts deep inside the butt cheek. I've been rolling on it to try to get some relief.
More physio this week and more tests for arthritis this time.
I'm improving but what on earth kicked it off so badly and if I don't take the meds, I really notice it - surely this can't be it ? My friend thinks I've got fibromyalgia ...

Hi OP, just checking in to see how you are doing? I work in a school and was playing hockey with some children last Monday, was absolutely fine until I got back to class and then my back twinged and then like dominoes my bum, leg and back felt like they had been broken. I

OH that's how it rolls. A real pole axing event. Excruciating.

@tattoonewbie come out, come out, wherever you are.

Hi all. Still no diagnosis or the root cause but traction at physio has really helped. She’s a lady who has tonnes of experience and just gets me. I’m sore but low level and just keep on top of it with half dose of the meds I was taking previously

That’s great OP.. gives me hope! Anyone found that the mornings are unbearably painful?

I take the meds, make a cuppa and go back to bed until they kick in. That helps me be more mobile.

Can I also ask you guys if you felt like your knee was broken? My knee seems worse than my back now!

My surgeon said my knee hurts because of my awkward gait. We have a ring doorbell which films. Omg it's so obvious when you're on film.
