dd1 4 fractured her gum he day before yesterday. she has compressed her teeth and at least 2 possibly four of her front teeth are dead meaning that they will turn black, which is a pain but at least it happened to her baby teeth.

she was off nursery yesterday to go to the dentist who said there is a fracture in the bone behind the gums and she needs to be carefull not to knock her mouth as it could make it worse and the bleeding will start again.

when she did it there was a lot of blood it was literally pouring out of her mouth down her neck!!!! when she noticed the blood she panicked and went hysterical! about her knee funnily enough she did not realise that the blood was from her mouth!

anyway my question is do i send her to nursery this afternoon with the risk that she might knock her mouth again and start panicking about the blood while i am not there also this would make the fracture worse causing further dental probs or do i let her stay at home and give her over the weekend to let it start healing?

i know the teachers are there to look after her but with that many kids it is unrealistic to expect them to be able to watch my dd constantly, also at snack time she wont be able to join in as she can only eat mush right now

I wouldn't send her, tbh if I had fractured my gum I would want a bit of tlc and a cuddle on the sofa with my mum! I'd make a big fuss of her, give her all the pain relief she needs and give her homeopathic arnica 3 times a day until she is better. (It should help with the physical healing and the shock).

she has had all that i was thinking not to send her coz she is wild!! and i know that she will be climbing, running and jumping everywhere!!

she had her big fuss yesterday and her dad spoilt her buying wii games for being so brave!!! she is now saying it only hurts when she tries to bite something or cleans her teeth

she is not interested in being fussed over today she is not really a cuddly child! she is more interested in trying to make a den with my sofa cushions
