Anyone had MRCP scan? Can I pick your brains?

Feet first or head first? How long was it? I'm claustrophobic and had MRI's before that gave me the heebee geebees. I can usually manage clenched teeth and curled toes through it but having visions as it's my abdomen that I'll be smack bang in the middle of the machine. Orev ones have been brain so head in the middle but not like the whole of me inside!

I've had MRI of my lumbar spine and I went in feet first. Once I had been inserted they told me I could let my arms drape however I wanted, as long as I did not move them after that. When I completely relaxed only my elbows rested against the inside of the machine. It was actually very comfortable, did not feel cramped at all. I think my shoulders were outside the machine, though I shut my eyes and just chilled while they got on with it. The hum of the machine was rather like white noise. Soothing.

Hope it goes well for you.

My lumbar was head first. I think it depends on the clinic.

assume it’ll be head first then if not, it’s a bonus!

I’ve always kept my eyes closely shut in mri’s but my last one I decided to open them and actually it was the best thing I could have done.

it was well lit, and I could see out of both ends. It wasn’t as bad as I thought.

bonus is, being abdominal you’ll be able to wear headphones. It’s comforting listening to the radio and hearing human voices.

Head first, lying on back. But it's open ended so you won't be closed in.

I've had lots and they're honestly fine. I always get cold though so wear a cardigan (with no metal buttons).

You can do this! Most important thing is to keep very still, then they don't have to repeat images so is quicker.
