See the GP or don’t waste their time?

I have found a hard lump on my thigh (diagram below) - it’s not visible as deeper under the skin (and probably fat too 😳) and about the size and width of the end of my index finger. It’s not painful unless pressed.

Is this something I should get checked out? Getting a GPs appointment is almost impossible and I don’t want to waste their time. Has anyone had a similar thing?

Yes, you need to get it checked. There are many non serious things it could be, but at the end of the day, it wasn’t there before, so go.

I think the advice is to always get new lumps checked out?

Twiglets1 · 11/02/2025 20:04

Yup I would get that checked out. For peace of mind if nothing else.

Yes please go get checked out lots of non serious things it could be but least you will know

If you call your GP and say you have found a lump I would be astounded if they didn’t make you a same day appointment. You may have to call at a certain time of day or whatever but the receptionist can advise.
It may well turn out to be nothing to worry about but it should be checked in person.

Thank you all - just aware of how busy GPs are these days. I’ll make an appointment tomorrow.
