Do i need to fast for a 21 day blood test?

I am due to have a 21 day blood test to see if i'm ovulating.
All it says on the blood test form is that they are investigating progesterone levels.
I had one of these tests years ago and i thought i remebered having to fast for the test and having to have the blood taken before 9am.

Call the surgery, they should be able to let you know.

i had this test a couple of times. no fasting was required. blood taken after 9 too. wasn't aware of any requirements like that at all.

May just pop down to the blood clinic and talk to the vampire ladies there.

You don't need to fast for a day 21 progesterone test.

But remember that taking the level on day 21 is only useful if you have a textbook day 28 cycle!!

You need to have the bloods done 7 days prior to your period starting. So the 21 day test only applies if you are a 28 day cycle woman. If your cycle is for eg 32 days, then you should have the progesterone blood test on day 25.

Oh dear, looks like i have just had a blood test for nothing!
