BV treatment and getting period - worried It won't work

I had sex a few weeks back with new partner, used condom but noticed there was a scent too it even though it said they get a good name and was latex free (Skyn) Afterwards and since even 2 weeks on I've been experiencing symptoms just of this tinglish feeling, (not painful) and sometimes burning sensation. Peeing doesn't make it worse but if bladder is full then it feels like the ticklish sensation worsens higher up.

GP said looked like thrush so took fluconazole but didn't notice improvement, I then decided to go to sexual health and get check up. Along with them being able to do ph test and lab to look at results, they told me it was BV. Which I was surprised as I haven't had any smell and the pain doesn't worsen when peeing and no discharge as such though sexual health said there was watery.
Complete different to GP but possible ovulation at that point.

I got given metronidazole tablets which I took my first 2 yesterday (Friday) and it's a 5 day course. Then at night my period started which is 4 days earlier than expected though had also taken Ellaone after intercourse. So unsure if that.
Though I'm now really worrying that this antibiotic won't be effective as I've seen periods can often throw things and people end up with BV after period.
Does anyone have any experience or should it be fine? :( Never had this issue before and timing seems!
Just stressing as want this to go away and hate antibiotics due to thrush that comes after! (of course will go to gp if it persists but just to see if odds are against or if anything I can do to clear)

You should be fine! But use pads instead of tampons :)

I would suggest taking a probiotic for vaginal health, to try and get a good balance again
