I tried calling the hospital for advice but it’s not “that bad”’so they say ride it out.

had a small, quick procedure for removal and biopsy of something first thing this morning. Got home felt really disoriented and just fell asleep until now. Still feel
groggy but not sure if this is common? Google doesn’t shed much light.

Your body releases natural painkillers so it’s probably just that. I had a gynae biopsy and minor procedure quite a few years ago and felt rough for 24 hours, just under LA.

That’s really good to know thank you

Where you worried/stressed before the op?
It's probably a perfectly natural response from your mind and body now it's done.
If it helps, I had a minor op and slept for almost twice my usual amount for about a week.

I've had a mole removed under local anaesthetic and also had a mild sedative, I was groggy and slightly disoriented for 36-48 hours

Wallawallakoala · 21/01/2025 19:24

@ShredHead i was actually yeah, so that makes sense! Maybe the sleep helps recovery so possibly a good thing, forcing you to rest.

@WilderHawthorn good to know other people have experienced similar, hope all went well!

I had a customer removed from my neck/ shoulder

I thought I'd go back to work but I felt faint and awful and had three days off after it got infected

Had another and felt faint had to drive to work!

It's a very traumatic thing and we don't always realise.

Wallawallakoala · 21/01/2025 22:23

Customers can be stubborn!

yeah exactly the same I was going to go into work later in the day but couldn’t move and still feel rough!

my unsympathetic dh thinks I’m being dramatic!

I had a skin biopsy last Thursday which was sprung on me at the appointment. It’s very, very minor surgery but I had a local anaesthetic and stitches. I felt fine until after I got off the bus after finally getting home and my legs went really wobbly and it took me ages to get to sleep that night, even though I was really tired.

HA! Cyst! Grin

Wallawallakoala · 22/01/2025 21:49

@Yourinmyspot oh no that sounds bad, I hope you recovered ok!

it’s interesting to hear others experiences though because nothing of the sort was mentioned in the side effects and risks.

Yes I’m fine now thanks, I think it was just a delayed reaction as I only went for an appointment didn’t expect to come out with stitches in my arm! I suppose it’s better than having ages to think about it.

I hope you are okay too.
