Son has rash on stomach but no other symptoms

Going to speak to pharmacist tomorrow but just wondered if anyone might be able to help.

My son (12) has had this rash (see photo) on his stomach just near his hip for a few days.

It’s not itchy and only slightly sore if he presses on it. He is well in himself and has no other symptoms. It feels bumpy to the touch and the area is roughly the size of a 50p coin.

It does look like some images of mild shingles, so I’m a bit worried! Any ideas what it could be?

Yes, definitely looks like shingles. I think you need to act fast to get treatment from doctors or pharmacy but if he's well otherwise, I wouldn't worry too much. It should just dry out, scab over and fall off. Keep away from pregnant women and immuno suppressed.

Yes shingles I think. Don't worry though, if he feels ok - it will resolve itself.
