Is stool and blood test enough to catch bowel cancer?

Like if I am worried because things feel weird and heavy down there (also have piles, probably this) and GP has ordered that, is that enough to rule it out? Or does it need exploring for polyps etc - and is that something I should ask for?

Following as I'm interested too. What are your symptoms?

If your FIT test is positive and/or abnormal bloods, GP will refer for colonoscopy.

GP can refer without FIT etc if there is an obvious lump. Otherwise (in my area at least) referral will be refused unless FIT done first.

I have colonoscopies annually and have had multiple non-cancerous polyps as well as bowel cancer, not sure they would do the colonoscopy if only polyps were suspected.

Thank you @Vinvertebrate

@ListenDontJudge i had a tummy bug that has stopped but my poo hasn’t become properly normal since - like something is stopping me do proper sized poos if that makes sense. And the bug exacerbated piles and that is causing issues. But I am worried maybe there is another blockage stopping big poos come out.

sorry, graphic!
