Sinus pressure, fatigue, no congestion

Feel very tired and run down with sinus pressure but have no congestion. Started taking beconese over the weekend but no improvement yet. Any advice on other remedies? Am I actually ill - what’s going on?! Feels very odd to have sinus pressure/pain and feel exhausted but no other cold/flu symptoms. TIA

@Fitzfuckitall eventually, yes. Tried two different steroid nasal sprays from GP and started steaming with menthol crystals and using Neilmed sinus rinse 2-4x a day. There was no one moment where I was suddenly better, just dissipated slowly… so I can’t really put my finger on what helped, or if it just resolved on its own. What did definitely help, temporarily, was breathing in cool fresh air outside. I always felt a noticeable improvement. How long have you had symptoms?

Thank you so much for replying! Ok so I’ve got a nasal spray from a GP, been using Neilmed only x2 a day so I’ll do it 4 & start the steaming again with my menthol crystals. It all started 2 months ago; I had a bad virus which turned into double ear infection, then had to have planned surgery (gallbladder removed), then got a nasty cold and now I’ve been left with what feels like swollen congested sinuses and a ‘full’ right ear. Private ENT (via insurance) have been useless & just said Eustachian tubes were swollen, refused to give me anything. So then had to have a private GP where I begged for the steroid spray, because my own GP wouldn’t give me an appointment. Honestly, mumsnet has been my one true help. I’m also in peri so sure my changing hormones has changed my sinuses in some way. Agghhhhh!
I really appreciate your reply xxx

@Fitzfuckitall i was also quite sure my sinus issues were hormonal related as have been breastfeeding for almost 2 years and this can lower oestrogen, which can in turn lower moisture in mucus membranes. I requested to go on the CCP but gp was adamant it wasn’t hormone related… and wanted to wait and see how the steroid prays worked…
Are you on HRT?

Unfortunately I cannot take hrt due to aura migraines & endometriosis :( It really has been a rotten phase but I’m through the worse of it now and just need to knock this sinus/ear issue on the head. You’ve given me hope that it will pass 😊

I’m pretty sure I’m suffering with dry sinuses.

i am dry as a bone in my nose, but my cheeks and upper teeth - ouch! Also achy forehead and top of my head off and on.

im also getting shooting pains like ice pick headaches too though

Ive been on a nasal steroid for a week and there’s no improvement. Started steaming yesterday and saline nasal spray too.

painkillers don’t touch it.

Hayfever?

Instead of beconase, have you tried taking hayfever tablets for a week? Hayfever can make you feel really tired.

I've had a lot of sinus issues, resulting in surgery (which helped). On the rare occasion I get pain now, I put a stripe of white tiger balm over my eyebrow on the side that's painful and it relieves the pain.

I wouldn't put it under your eye and I wouldn't do it just before bed for risk of transfer via pillow and it getting into your eye.

Hope you find something that works as sinus pain is horrible.
