Pins and needles / numbness in thigh

For the last week to 2 weeks I've had a pins and needles and numbness on and off over a large patch of my thigh. It is getting worse and today is very numb and feels heavy. It doesn't look any different, not hot to touch etc... but is very uncomfortable now. I have been in and out of hospital the last few weeks with weight loss so not sure if this has anything to do with it, and am of course hardly active at all as I have been so ill. Does anyone have any ideas? There's not any g.p. appts for a few weeks.

Have a look at meralgia paresthetica @strongswan. I had tingling/numbness alternating with really burning pain in both thighs after having ds and was diagnosed with this. Apparently can be a result of losing a lot of weight quickly. Was a while ago but i remember old school GP saying he'd never seen someone with it twice, but he didn't know if that meant it went away or people just learnt to live with it!

Get your B12 checked as that can cause pins/needles and numbness. Get it checked soon as it isn't always reversible if left for a while. Can you do an econsult with your GP? Otherwise I think you can do private blood checks for this.

Thank you both. I just looked it up @MassiveOvaryaction and that sounds exactly right, will have more or a read up. @LittleGreenDragons I've managed to get an appt with the GP in a couple of days, someone must of cancelled, I'll ask them about my B12 as it's been low before. I've had lot's of blood tests the last few weeks so would have thought they'd pick it up though.
