Life after DEPO contraceptive injection

My periods are all over the place and I'm just wondering how other people found things a few months after stopping the contraceptive injection. I can have a normal period at the expected time and it will be as my periods used to be but then bleed again - very heavily - a week later for a full week. For one thing, surely my uterus can't reline itself that quick!?? Where does all the blood come from?Sorry for grossness.

Really? I didn't notice a major PMT improvement which is why I stopped! lol

I've been off it now for 3 months - I also worry that is has affected my fertility- perhaps irrationally.

It won't affect your fertility (not permanently anyway, it just takes a while to wear off, up to a year apparently)

My periods were all over the place for ages after having the injections for a while, it didn't work for me at all, I bled almost constantly (worked in that respect, best contraception ever since we could never have sex)

If the bleeding is excessive or you're worried ask your doctor, but it's fairly normal for periods to be all over the place when coming off/going on contraception which affects your hormone balance.

You're lucky. I'm 13 months off Depot and still no sign of a period :-(

I'm 2 years past depo injection and I've only had 1 period since coming off of it😔 doctors can't seem to figure out why I've only have 1 in the last 2 years 🤷🏻‍♀️ biggest regret of my life getting the depo 😔

@tee196i feel the same. 3 blood tests later and a ovarian scan they can't offer anything to help. My blood tests show i'm not producing oestrogen anymore :-(

When I came off the depo to conceive, my periods took 5-6 months to come back and 12 months to become pregnant.
