Ankhway Mushroom Gummies

JamNittyGritty · 02/01/2025 07:20

Anyone tried these and happy to share if they had any effect?

I am tempted by all the wondrous things they are meant to do. I can struggle with mood / focus / sleep and can get easily sucked in by magic wand solutions!

Reviews on trustpilot are great…

I've just taken my first two gummies this morning. Struggling with menopausal brain fog and can't take HRT for any menopause symptoms so I am interested in other things I can do to help. I've been wanting to try functional mushrooms for a while, especially Lion's Mane, but Ankhway seemed a good place to start, so here goes! I can report back in a week or two.

Incidentally, two of my teenagers have been diagnosed with ADHD in the last year (I can't credit my own terrible distractability to ADHD). DD14 was prescribed stimulant meds last week and in the review with the consultant I asked about the possible benefits of functional mushrooms like lion's mane - either alongside or instead of stimulant drugs. Her eyes widened, she was quite surprised by the question and did not seem to have explored, or read around the topic of how functional mushrooms or other naturally occurring substances/nutrient could be beneficial to the brain. I get that a psychiatrist focuses on medication but someone it took her down a little in my estimation that she didn't have an informed opinion. The world is so much broader than just traditional medical training now. But perhaps she thought I was asking about psychadelics and that was what alarmed her.

This is really interesting to me anna38anna and though mushrooms have saved me (2 trips on liberty caps 4 years ago have kept me stable and contented) I am interested in mushrooms for ADHD. Can you recommend any further reading, podcasts or something similar on this?

Thanks, I've just found the website.

anna38anna · 25/01/2025 12:08

For starters, it’s interesting just to do a search on here combining words like ADHD and lions mane. There were a couple of helpful threads I found last week - mostly mumsnet users who have ADHD themselves and are trying some complementary therapies.

Here are a couple of scientific studies I found my way to via a ChatGPT search, they are small studies and the emphasis is that more research is needed:

The Acute and Chronic Effects of Lion’s Mane Mushroom Supplementation on Cognitive Function, Stress and Mood in Young Adults: A Double-Blind, Parallel Groups, Pilot Study - PMC

Background: Given the bioactive properties and limited work to date, Hericium erinaceus (Lion’s mane) shows promise in improving cognitive function and mood. However, much of the human research has concentrated on chronic supplementation in ...

I’m about 10 days in, so only observation so far is that I have not had any noticeable brain fog moments in the last week. My work requires me to be quite mentally sharp and it’s been a regular occurrence since menopause that my brain/memory lets me down at an inopportune moment. So, while it’s not statistically significant, that’s good enough for me to continue and I’m likely to buy another month’s supply when these ones run out. These are my 1st to try, so I am very open to other brands or concentrations/powders/tinctures if others through trial and error have found their way to the most effective brand or dosage for them.

ScoldsBridle · 16/02/2025 15:51

I tried them for 30 days and found no discernible difference - apart from the fact that they are sweet and got me craving sugary things when I’m trying to reduce as I’m Type 2. The adverts I’m bombarded with on Instagram have all these women claiming they can totally focus and it’s wiped away all their brain fog after about a week. Feel a bit of a mug for falling for it to be honest. Am not dissing the potential benefits of lions mane and other mushrooms but am a bit suspicious of the amounts that are actually in these gummies (and other brands, powders etc…)

FabuIous · 19/03/2025 14:07

Bumping in case anyone else has tried them in the meantime. I’m pondering.

ScoldsBridle · 19/03/2025 14:38

My reply was never posted for some reason? I can’t even remember what I wrote - I think I was saying I had just received my order and was going to try them out. I did. And felt nothing. Absolutely nothing. Took them for the full 30 days. My Instagram is bombarded by the Ads - people finding amazing ‘focus’ after a week - clarity, energy etc… I then have other Ads for other products with similar scripts. I think there is some convincing research about the benefits of mushrooms of various types but how do we know how much is contained within each ‘g**mie’ or tablet? Where are the ingredients sourced/manufactured?

There’s a lot of ‘influencers’ - being sent multiple products and just parroting the scripts on all type of ‘life changing’ products.

Maybe someone else has had a better experience?

Oh that’s interesting. I am wary of the reviews on their own website but thought the Trustpilot reviews looked good. I guess it’s too good to be true.

haysaw · 07/04/2025 07:21

Hi all, would anyone be able to provide an update on the gummies please? Have they helped @JamNittyGritty ?? Thank you x

JamNittyGritty · 07/04/2025 07:52

Hey, I never got them as didn’t want to part with the money without being a little more sure they would do anything, so can’t give any feedback, sorry.

Still open to the idea though so hopefully someone will come along & share their experience

Are you still taking them Anna?

Any updates?

haysaw · 06/05/2025 12:23

Also keen to know!

Emmast123 · 05/06/2025 07:33

Hi everyone. I too was taken in my all the posts about these 'life changing gummies' and thought what the hell, may as well give them a try. I've not had my formal diagnosis yet but I think I have ADHD. My brain is always so loud. I've been taking them for about three weeks now I think. No changes noticed in the first couple of weeks. However in the last day or so, my head has been a lot 'quieter' and I've not been as distracted and impulsive. I've bought a two months supply so will keep taking them and see if I see any other improvements.

RentalWoesNotFun · 05/06/2025 07:38

I’d never heard of this so I’m interested in finding out more. Be good to see some reviews. After spending £50 on cbd oil that doesnt seems to have done anything for me I am reluctant to spend any more cash. How much to these things cost?

Realfunwow · 26/07/2025 18:02

I took them consistent for 60 days. I was looking for a solution to brain fog and really low energy and motivation that landed on me in April. I felt nothing, nothing at all. I'm taking B12 now and am starting to feel more like my self after 8 days! Sometimes it's just good old vitamins that are needed.

YourBlueScroller · 27/07/2025 10:32

Mushroom gummies gave me really bad gut ache so I had to stop.

I’m 3 weeks in. It might be placebo effect, but I definitely feel more focused. I’m 51 years of age and started this course mainly to tackle my bloating. My stomach remains the same so far, however, my focus is definitely on point. I haven’t felt like this for a long while and I don’t know if it’s just coincidental hormonal changes, or the effects of the gummies. I have no other explanation for the way I feel at the minute. ( Warning, sounds dramatic!!) …. I feel ready to face the world!
I ordered 2 months worth, so I’m going to get to the end and see how I go.
Watch this space!

This makes no sense to me. Why would "functional mushrooms" be in any way related to each other? If one fungi has a beneficial chemical in it, why would another one have a beneficial chemical in it? There are about 3 million fungi species in the world, they are all different. Who has decided that the chemicals they contain should be classed together? There is only about half a million species of vascular plant, you wouldn't decide to buy "functional plants" with nothing in common other than the fact they were plant species.

I don't think it is reasonable to expect a medical professional to read up on every random alternative medicine theory out there, there must be hundreds of them, many with no scientific basis or value what so ever

taylorswift1989 · 03/08/2025 23:23

I dunno about gummies but I take lions mane powder most days (in a cup of coffee) and have done so for about a year now. I feel it has helped a lot with focus and calm/quiet (i have adhd). I can feel the difference when I don't take it. I just buy the organic powder from amazon and it costs about 10 quid for a three month supply. Maybe it's a placebo but either way, it works for me, and it's a reasonable price.
