Acoustic Neuroma/Vestibular Schwannoma

Hey all,

Does anyone else have an Acoustic Neuroma, which is also called a Vestibular Schwannoma?

I was diagnosed with one 2 years ago and it is right next to my brain stem.

I´ve lost hearing in one ear because of it, and I now have trigeminal neuralgia because of it, which is an excruitiatingly painful condition.

Hi - my husband had one. He was watching and waiting for a few years but they thought it had grown, so he had treated via gamma knife radio surgery. The treatment itself damaged his hearing, but not drastically.

I’ve just found out I have one. It’s very small at the moment but grew by 2mm in a few weeks between scans.
Im still a little bit in shock.
I am proudly deaf and have been in both ears for years so never noticed any difference in my hearing.
It’s been picked up after 12 months of lots of different symptoms and finally getting someone to listen to me. Pardon the pun!
The last 48 hours I’ve sat researching as much as I can

Will you be having it treated?
